The other day a good friend of mine whom knew of my online success asked me abruptly, "how do I start online without any money what-so-ever?" I was a little shocked at the question. It had been a long time since I was in the same shoes as she was. But thinking back, I realized the method I used with much success. In fact, this method is just as effective today as it was many years ago.
Here's what I shared with my friend:
1) BECOME AN AFFILIATE
Go to clickbank.com right now, and sign-up to become an affiliate. By doing so, it's like you've literally created thousands of products in a myriad of different topics that you can sell immediately for profits ranging from $1 to $150 per digital product sold. But remember, being an affiliate is only a temporary solution to a lack of your own product or service. In fact, I would advice to save some of your affiliate profits for investing in your own products, either by creating it yourself, outsourcing your product creating, or buying private label products. Having your own product would really increase your ability to leverage other people's efforts for promoting your product.
2) GET YOUR OWN WEBSITE
Your own website is like having a physical store offline, where people can come to visit your offerings. It tells the world that you mean business. It shows people that you are not a fly by night operation and it may lend credibility to your offering. My advice is to get professional hosting rather than free hosting. Professional hosting is quick, easy, and painless, and will help avoid drawing your visitors away from your site via advertisements as is typically the case of using a free host.
3) GET AN AUTORESPONDER
The two I absolutely recommend is aweber.com and getresponse.com. Just like getting a website, I advice not to get the free version of either as they will have advertisements that may draw your reader's attention from your money making offer. I like to subscribe to my own list before I even attempt to get subscribers to my autoresponder. This way, I can catch mistakes in my marketing follow-up before they reach my readers.
4) BECOME A TRAFFIC MASTER
Learn everything you can about gaining traffic, and then do everything in your power to get traffic to your site. To do any real testing about what works for your site, you'll need to get at least a few hundred visitors a day. Use every traffic technique you can think of, then test and track to see what works. Then drop what doesn't work, and keep doing what does work. Here's a big clue. 5) PRACTICE WRITING GOOD COPY
Create a swipe file of all the best headlines, sales letters, emails, resource boxes that you come across. And practice writing some of your own. The more you write and create your own copy the better you'll be at it. Remember, it's your sales copy that gets people to react to your offers. 6) RE-INVEST FOR SUCCESS
Once you start earning money, it may be very tempting to start spending on non-business related things. My advice is to re-invest your profits for at least the first 6 months to 1 year on things like outsourcing, or PLR, or website creation.
